Mine seems to on the move and finding a new home. It’s time to move on to pastures new & find a new home for my patterns. I have absolutely loved creating PipsRainbow as a brand. The website was the main aim at the beginning. I wanted to teach people how to crochet. To do the thing I loved. To be able to create and produce their very own beautiful creations. Things that they could be proud of and cherish. It took quite a lot of hard work, some very confusing moments, but I managed to create my website and kept it going for 9 years. I’ve loved sharing all my patterns and family moments over the years. I remember when I decided to create the website! I was on a holiday with my family & my boy was only 6 months old. Whilst pushing his pram along the marina, clutching a little bag of crocheting, in the hope that when he was asleep I could have a little crochet.

I had this idea to teach people through a website & to help them create wonderful crochet creations as well. Over the years, we’ve had blankets, hats, snoods, wraps, aliens, dogs, unicorns, bears, rabbits, conkers, and many more.

I have been toying with my little PipsRainbow world and wondering which road to take it down. As a designer, there are so many possibilities now, with many platforms that you can jump on and off with all your creations, as you please. The world is your oyster as it were. Which is great. I love that designers are being able to share and inspire others to follow in their footsteps. My little Smiles pdf pattern has been on ravelry for a year or so now and has had a great start into the world. So pleased that it is reaching far and beyond. I wonder how many of them have been made? But for me, I think it is time for PipsRainbow to have a little change of direction. A new beginning in this rather uncertain world that we live in. When I first started the PipsRainbow world, my main aim was to teach and to inspire others to have a go and grow that inner crocheter from within them. And going forward, this will always be my mission. I will be shutting down the website, but PipsRainbow Patterns will be found on Ravelery. They will all be saved as PDF’s. So easier to save or print out. I will also be keeping all of the tutorials. These will be found on instagram and You Tube as well. 

My patterns will still all be free on Ravelery & have an option to donate to a charity through a Just Giving page if you would like to. Hoping that you will find them easier to use, as you can save them in your files, or print them off at your leisure. The charity donation, will come in the form of a link to a Just Giving page for the chosen charity. I just thought that it’s just a nice way to make a few pennies for a charity, in exchange for a crochet pattern. What do you think? In this crazy world at the moment, many of the charities are really struggling for fundraising, so I just thought this is a great and easy way for us little crocheters and knitters to give a little something. I hope you agree. 

My PipsRainbow Website will close at the end of the month. I will get the patterns on Ravelery as quick as I can. If you are desperate for any of them, then just give us a shout and I will hopefully be able to sort it quickly for you. 

I am super excited by PipsRainbow’s new little direction. And it’s new home. I can’t wait to get designing new little squishy creations for you. I have a few up my sleeve. 

Does feel like a bit of an era. But trying not to think about it that way. It’s not a sad moment, it’s a moving on moment. A chance to try new things & hopefully reach as many lovely crafty people as I can.
